Christian Bridges at The Supermarket

When I almost got to The Supermarket I saw Philip, then Justin and his gf and then George and Rosie. At the door Justin saw me and came over to say hey, hug and what's up. When I was paying admission they were all done paying but one of the Nozuka sisters came in and was going to pay. On the website I remember it saying that admission was by donation but when I went in it was $10 and that we would be getting a 'free' CD from Adam Basilie, the main performer.

I saw Danny and said hey, and I saw Mark there as well. I went to find a place to sit and then wait for the first singer. I felt like a huge creeper sitting there with the Nozukas sitting basically at the next table. I didn't have anything to do so I called my friend up and we chatted for a while.

The first person up was someone named Marcus Harris? He was pretty interesting. He got the audience clapping and laughing. Then it was a girl, I think her name is Ava. She's got a really nice voice! After that was Christian. At first I wasn't feeling his music but then it got better. He said that him and Justin collaborated on a song and that it was going to be on Justin's 2nd album. Henry also got up on stage for a couple of songs with Christan. Christian got flustered a couple of times but worked it all out. One Day and Heartless are 2 of the songs that he performed.

I'd say at least 90% of the people there were there for Christian. All his family and friends there to support him. When his set was over I went to say bye to Justin and George. I tapped George on his shoulder and told him that I just wanted to say hi. He's like hey, hug, how are you? and that it was really sweet that I went to his brother's show. He asked how my summer is going and I said that I've been camping. He asked something along the lines of are you going to university and I told him that I'm older than he thinks I am haha.

Justin Nozuka at the Shops at Don Mills

I was reading the free newspaper on the train home from work one day when I saw an ad that the Midway State was playing at the new mall. I already knew about that show and was busy that day so I wouldn't have been able to go. I kept reading the ad and to my surprise I saw that 'newcomer' Justin Nozuka for opening for Kathleen Edwards! I started texting as many people I could to tell them about Justin's show. A lot of people told that me they were busy =(.

On the day of the show I got there a bit early to get a good spot. I noticed that all the chairs were wet...it had just poured like crazy but the sun was blazing right after.

Here are some of the songs that were played: Swan In The Water, I Carried You, Criminal, Be Back Soon, Woman Put Your Weapon Down, Stand Up and Fight For Now. Justin said that the 2nd album is all done, yay =).

After the band was done you could see all the girls get up from their seats and book it to the back of the stage haha. Justin was nice, as always, taking pictures and talking to all the fans. There was this one man with his daughter. There was another guy and the dad was telling the guy that he should get a picture with Justin becuase who knows how much it could be worth in the future. He was saying to the guy that if you could've gotten a picture with Paul McCartney when he was younger you'd be the shit now (not that exactly but he was trying to say that Justin is gonna be HUGE and I totally agree).

Finally it was my turn to see Justin. Quick chat, a picture and then I was off. I've been to many JNB shows before but I've never introduced myself to Mark so I told him that I've seen them play quite a few times and what my name is. I doubt he still remembers.

Down With Webster video shoot

On August 5 the band Down With Webster had a video shoot for their song "Time To Win". We were told that the doors would be opened at the Mod Club Theatre at 5:45pm. 6pm rolls around and nothing's happening. People started getting restless waiting so they decide that they have better things to do and leave =O. Someone comes out to tell us that we'll be let in within 1/2 an hour...we don't actually get into the building until almost 8pm!!

Once inside we're told all the legal stuff and to give off as much energy as possible. Since there wasn't as many people as they would've liked we're told to stand a little further from the person in front of us to make it look like there's more people. Several takes of Time To Win were done. One involved Bucky standing IN the crowd on people's shoulders and another one was Kap launching himself into the crowd to crowd surf.

D-Dub played a few songs for us after the shoot to show their appreciation. Whoa Is Me, Back Of My Hand, Grind and a couple others were played. When the shoot was over D-Dub partied on the patio. I didn't bring my digicam =( so I had to take crappy pictures with the band members on my cell. Better than nothing.. Kap was nice enough to do a video for my cousin =D. I heard that the after party was at a place called Touche.
